OXYGEN SENSOR (P.2)

Sensor classification

Active sensors and passive sensors distinguish where the energy source used allows the transformation to come from.

Active sensors do not use additional power to switch to electrical signals. Typically piezoelectric sensors made of ceramic materials, which convert pressure into charge on the surface. The antennas belong to the active sensor type.

Passive sensors use additional power to switch to electrical signals. Typically, photodiodes, when light enters, have a change in the p-n semiconductor contiguous resistance that is polarized backwards. Sensors by rheostat also belong to the passive sensor type.

What is an "O-xy sensor"?

The o-xy sensor is a fuel mixture ratio sensor (o-xy + gasoline), it can detect the density of o-xy in the exhaust pipe and is the most common core part in the current exhaust gas cleaning system.

It has high performance and high reliability to strengthen emissions regulations, and contributes to improving vehicle performance and reducing harmful emissions.
