On 12th September, 2019; Governor Hideaki Ohmura and a delegation from Aichi Prefecture were present to work with Deputy Minister Nguyen Duc Trung at the headquarters of the Ministry of Planning and Investment (Hanoi), to exchange contents contributing to promoting the economic, trade and investment cooperation between Vietnam and Japan in general and Vietnam - Aichi in particular.

At the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duc Trung and Governor Hideaki Ohmura both expressed their thanks to each other, and highly appreciated the cooperation between the two sides in Aichi Prefecture's support for Vietnamese enterprises to invest and do business in the province, as well as the Vietnamese Government's help, create conditions for Aichi enterprises to invest and do business in Vietnam.
On the Aichi Prefecture side, Mr. Hideaki Ohmura hopes that in the coming time, there will be more direct flights opened from the province to major cities of Vietnam in order to further strengthen the province's economic cooperation with localities of Vietnam, contributing to promoting Vietnam-Japan cooperation.
On the Vietnamese side, the Ministry of Planning and Investment will continue to support enterprises in the province to strengthen investment cooperation in Vietnam, especially in areas such as automobile manufacturing industry, manufacturing industry, supporting industry, electronic component manufacturing, high-tech,...

Coming to this exchange, representatives of NGK Vietnam Spark Plug Company – Mr. Tran Thanh Kha and Mr. Toshio Suzuki – also met and exchanged cordially with Governor Hideaki Ohmura, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duc Trung and Director General of The National Investment Agency ngoài_Bộ Minister of Planning and Investment.

According to Mr. Nguyen Duc Trung, up to now, Japan's investment ranks 02/132 countries and territories investing in Vietnam with 4,247 projects, registered investment capital of more than 58 billion USD. Japan is the largest ODA supporter for Vietnam. Trade cooperation between the two countries has seen good growth. With such results, investment of Japan in general and of Aichi Prefecture in particular has contributed to promoting the socio-economic development of Vietnam.
In 2008, the Ministry of Planning and Investment and the Aichi prefectural government signed a Memorandum of Understanding on economic cooperation and promotion of Aichi-Vietnam investment promotion activities. The Aichi Support Desk established at the Foreign Investment Agency, Ministry of Planning and Investment has actively contributed to attracting and supporting Aichi enterprises to learn and invest in Vietnam. Up to now, there are 180 provincial enterprises investing in Vietnam. Over the past 10 years, Aichi Prefecture and the Ministry of Planning and Investment have organized nearly 40 dialogues and seminars between ministries, sectors, localities and Aichi enterprises to support and solve problems for businesses in the investment process in Vietnam.
