On 6th June, 2020; the 5th Minicar Racing competition organized by Cao Thang Technical College was officially launched. Attending the ceremony were representatives of Cao Thang School Board, representatives of schools with candidates and representatives of sponsors: Nhat Huy Khang, Motul and NGK Spark Plugs. This year, NGK Spark Plugs continue to be honored to be one of the three main sponsors of this competition.
As usual, the contest will take place from January to the end of May every year. However, due to the complicated development of the Covid-19 epidemic, the Organizing Committee had to reschedule the match to the beginning of June 2020, when all students returned to normal school.

Before the start of the ceremony, Cao Thang School Board honored the sponsors and invited representatives of the companies to the stage to give flowers and take souvenir photos. It is known that NGK Spark Plugs are the Silver sponsors of the entire competition.

During the launching ceremony, the representative of NGK Spark Plug sponsor - Mr. Tran Thanh Kha, Director of the Company - gave a brief speech about the company's role in front of the hall about the contest, as well as expressed interest and support for the school and students.

Besides being a Silver sponsor, NGK Spark Plugs are also the sole sponsor of the Media Awards – one of the important sub-awards within the framework of the competition. In addition, NGK spark plugs also plan to organize a number of technical seminars on spark plugs during the start of the competition, helping students master the knowledge to ensure the best performance of racing cars.
The contest promises to bring a lot of attraction and attract the attention of students, as well as the media - newspapers and communities that love creativity and passion for scientific research.

Minicar Racing is a homemade model car racing competition, controlled remotely via mobile phone using wifi protocol. This is a playground for students who love technology and engineering, want to apply the knowledge they have learned in real life. In particular, in 2020, the school introduced the theme "Road to zero waste" to respond to the movement to reduce plastic waste, directing the teams to use recycled and environmentally friendly materials, contributing to spreading the message of green living in the Vietnamese student community.
In order to increase the competitiveness and drama of the competition, this year the Organizing Committee has expanded the track and expanded the audience even more. The scale of the contest is expected to have 500 students participating (equivalent to about 100 teams) from 10 universities and colleges in the Ho Chi Minh City area and 02 foreign team schools. The teams will spend 04 months competing fiercely to advance to the final round in early August 2020.
