Last week, three major parts companies from Japan - NGK Spark Plugs, IRC Tires and Idemitsu Lubricants - co-organized "Motorbike Care Day 2019" at Thong Nhat Square, Hai Duong City Center, Hai Duong Province.

The program received permission from the National Traffic Safety Committee, support from parts distributor Kim Lien and enthusiastic reception by 5,000 local people.

Staff and repairmen gathered in Reunification Square to kick off the event.

"Think Bike" - raising awareness of traffic for Vietnamese people

According to statistics, in the first 6 months of the year, there were 125 accidents and traffic collisions in Hai Duong province, causing 115 deaths and 56 injuries. Through the event, the organizers wish to raise people's awareness of traffic safety, build a more civilized traffic culture. 

In order to spread the spirit of "Think Bike" to millions of people at home and abroad, throughout the journey, the car care team including experts, repairers and consultants of the company has conducted vehicle inspections, recommended customers to use and maintain the car, and propagated safe driving.

For customers at the event, after being guided by Japanese experts, most have grasped the knowledge of proper car care in 3 steps:

- Step one: check the spark plugs depending on the type of vehicle, displacement and speed of use. Spark plugs are products that need to be replaced annually or every 8,000km to ensure stable and fuel-efficient operation.

- Step two: check the tires. When noticing signs such as difficulty driving on wet sidewalks, shaky wheels, inflated or cracked tires, patterns on tires disappear, customers need to replace new tires.

- Step three: check and change the lubricant periodically, based on the number of kilometers or time of use of the car. If the car operates in an environment with a lot of dirt, high humidity, high temperature ... customers need to change the oil sooner.

Achievements

Inheriting the results of the 4.0 revolution, motorcycle users are taken care of and treated smarter vehicles. iPad and BI (Business Intelligence Technology) technology are used to connect data wirelessly, giving accurate results, clear and fast data.

Motorbike Care Day 2019 gives customers many interesting gifts and the opportunity to receive more attractive rewards with puzzle games, throwing hoops.... at the display area of the firms. The organizers also set up a dedicated area for children called "Fairy Garden" so that parents can safely send their children while waiting for car maintenance.

Summing up the event, more than 700 cars were maintained free of charge. Each customer participating in the festival contributes 15,000 VND to the charity program. The organizers donated VND 16,000,000 to disadvantaged children who were victims of traffic accidents in Hai Duong province.

The "Think Bike" Foundation has contributed 16,000,000 VND to disadvantaged families.

Motorbike Care Day travels through 19 provinces, takes care of 12,600 motorbikes and attracts more than 50,000 participants. It is expected that next 11 months, the festival will continue its journey in Can Tho city.
